Shopify plans and prices in India

The short answer: As of November 2026, Shopify's Indian pricing page lists Basic at ₹1,499 a month, Grow at ₹5,599 and Advanced at ₹22,680 when billed yearly, with higher monthly-billing prices. Because Shopify Payments is not available in India, you also pay Shopify a third-party transaction fee of 2%, 1% or 0.6% depending on the plan, on top of your payment gateway's own fee.

Shopify pricing in India is shown in rupees on the official pricing page. These are the figures listed there as of November 2026. Prices change, so check the official page before you commit.

The pricing page also offers a 3-day free trial, then ₹20 a month for the first 3 months on most plans, before standard pricing starts. It does not say whether the listed prices include GST, so check your Shopify bill and billing settings for how tax is applied to your account.

The transaction fee most Indian guides miss

In countries with Shopify Payments, many merchants pay no extra Shopify fee per order. India is not on the list of Shopify Payments countries, so every Indian store uses a third-party gateway, and Shopify charges its third-party payment fee on those sales.

Two separate fees on every prepaid order

₹1,000 orderpaid by UPI or card
Gateway feededucted before payout
Shopify fee2% / 1% / 0.6% on your bill
What you keepbefore shipping + tax

On Basic, a ₹1,000 order carries ₹20 of Shopify fee before the gateway takes its share.

This is why the cheapest plan is not always the cheapest choice once your sales grow. Gateway rates differ too; we compare Razorpay, PhonePe PG, Cashfree and Stripe India in payment gateway charges in India.

Your real monthly cost, calculated

Enter your expected monthly online sales. Each row adds the yearly-billed plan fee, Shopify's third-party fee and a Razorpay standard fee of 2% plus 18% GST on that fee (2.36% in total), using rates listed as of November 2026 on the Shopify pricing page and Razorpay pricing page.

Basic: ₹1,499 + 2% Shopify + 2.36% gateway–
Grow: ₹5,599 + 1% Shopify + 2.36% gateway–
Advanced: ₹22,680 + 0.6% Shopify + 2.36% gateway–

Estimate only. Excludes any GST on your Shopify bill, apps, themes, shipping and COD orders (which carry no gateway fee). Check both official pricing pages before deciding.

₹4.1 lakhMonthly sales where Grow starts costing less than Basic
₹42.7 lakhMonthly sales where Advanced starts costing less than Grow
1%Fee saved per order moving from Basic to Grow

Those break-even points come straight from the listed prices: Grow costs ₹4,100 more a month than Basic but charges 1% less, so it pays for itself at ₹4.1 lakh of prepaid sales. If much of your volume is cash on delivery, run the numbers on prepaid sales only, as COD orders carry no gateway fee.

Costs outside the plan fee

The plan is only one line on the bill. A realistic Shopify budget in India includes these:

Theme

Free themes are fine for many stores. Paid themes are a one-time cost listed in the Theme Store.

Apps

GST invoices, reviews, shipping and WhatsApp alerts often bill monthly. This is where budgets drift.

Review quarterly

Gateway fees

Charged by Razorpay, PhonePe PG or Cashfree on each prepaid order, plus GST on the fee.

Domain

A .com or .in domain renews every year, bought through Shopify or a registrar.

Shipping and RTO

Courier charges plus return-to-origin losses on refused COD parcels.

Build and setup

Theme customisation, product upload, gateway and shipping setup, if you hire someone.

Advanced, Plus and in-store selling

Advanced and Plus are built for high-volume brands. On the listed prices, Advanced only beats Grow on cost once prepaid sales pass about ₹42.7 lakh a month, so most Indian small businesses will never need it for the fee saving alone. Teams usually move up for staff accounts, reporting or operational features instead.

Plus starts at ₹1,75,000 a month on the Indian pricing page as of November 2026 and is sold with a sales conversation rather than a sign-up button. If you sell in a physical shop as well, the same page lists a POS Pro add-on at ₹7,000 a month per location on Basic, Grow and Advanced. Check the official pricing page for the current figures.

Monthly billing costs noticeably more than yearly billing on every plan. Use monthly billing while you test, then switch to yearly once you are confident in the platform and the plan.

Which Shopify plan should you pick?

Basic suits you if…
  • You are launching or testing products
  • Prepaid sales are under roughly ₹4 lakh a month
  • You run the store yourself
Grow suits you if…
  • Prepaid sales are above roughly ₹4 lakh a month
  • You need staff accounts for a small team
  • You want the lower transaction fee
  1. Start on yearly billing only once you are sure

Yearly billing is cheaper per month, but use the trial and a month or two on monthly billing to confirm Shopify suits you.

  2. Recalculate every quarter

Put your actual prepaid sales into the calculator above. Upgrade when the numbers say so, not before.

  3. Keep apps lean

A few well-chosen apps beat a dozen overlapping ones, for both cost and page speed.
