Hostinger for Business Websites: An Honest Review From Someone Running 10+ Sites on It

Is Hostinger website hosting good enough for a real business? We run around ten sites on a Hostinger VPS, so this review is from the inside: what it does well, where it costs more than the banner suggests, and which plan type actually suits a small business in India.

The short verdict

The short answer: Hostinger is a good-value host for small business websites in India, with an easy control panel, an India data centre option and low introductory prices. The catch is that those prices need long upfront terms and renew at a much higher rate, plus GST: on web hosting, roughly three to four times the intro price. Its VPS plans are excellent value if someone on your side can manage a server.

Hostinger suits you if…
  • You want a simple business site or WordPress site at a low cost
  • You are happy to pay for two to four years upfront
  • Your visitors are mostly in India and you pick the India data centre
  • You (or your developer) can manage a VPS, and want lots of server for the money
Look elsewhere if…
  • You expect the renewal price to match the intro price
  • You want someone to pick up the phone when the site is down
  • You need a fully managed server but do not want to pay a person to manage it
  • Your budget only works at the first-term price

Why this review is not from a test account

Most hosting reviews are written from a demo account and a speed-test screenshot. Ours comes from day-to-day use.

I run around ten sites on a Hostinger VPS that I set up and manage myself: Ubuntu, Nginx and PHP-FPM, with sites built in PHP, WordPress and WooCommerce. That means I handle the updates, the security hardening and the backups. The price is good precisely because the management is mine, and that is the trade-off every business should understand before choosing a VPS.

Hostinger plans and prices in India

As of November 2026, Hostinger India shows four web hosting plans on its official pricing page. The intro prices are for a 48-month term paid upfront, and every plan renews at a higher monthly rate for the same term.

The page states that prices are listed without GST, so add 18% on top. Hostinger runs frequent sales, so these figures move; always check the official page on the day you buy.

What Hostinger does well

Strong value on long terms

If you commit for the full term, the cost per month is hard to beat, especially on VPS, where you get a lot of RAM and storage for the price.

An easy control panel

hPanel is clean and quick to learn. Installing WordPress, adding email and managing DNS do not need a developer.

India data centre option

Hostinger's server locations page lists India for web, cloud and VPS plans, which helps load times for Indian visitors.

Full root access on VPS

You can install exactly the stack you want. We run Nginx and PHP-FPM tuned for our own sites rather than a one-size panel.

Backups included

Web plans include weekly or daily backups depending on the tier, and VPS plans include free weekly backups you can restore from the dashboard.

30-day money-back guarantee

The pricing page offers a full refund within 30 days, which lowers the risk of trying it.

Where it falls short

Renewals are much higher

On the cheaper web hosting plans, renewals run at roughly three to four times the intro rate. Budget for the renewal, not the banner.

Biggest surprise for buyers

Low prices need long terms

The headline price needs 48 months upfront on web hosting and 24 months on VPS. Shorter terms cost more per month.

GST and add-ons on top

Prices exclude GST, and checkout offers extras. Decline anything you did not plan for.

Chat-first support

Help comes through chat and an AI assistant. That is fine for routine questions, less so when you want a person to own an outage.

VPS means you are the admin

Root access gives freedom, but security updates, firewall rules, PHP versions and monitoring become your job or your developer's.

"Unlimited" has limits

Unlimited plans are subject to a fair usage policy. Shared resources still slow down if your site outgrows them.

For one brochure site, a web hosting plan is enough. A VPS makes sense when you run several sites, a busy WooCommerce shop or custom software, and have someone to manage it. We go deeper in shared hosting vs VPS, and cover the basics in website hosting in India explained.

How to buy Hostinger without overpaying

  1. Work out the total, including renewal

Multiply the renewal monthly rate by the term, then add 18% GST. That is your real cost from the second term onwards.

  2. Pick the India data centre

If your customers are in India, choose India at setup. The dashboard shows which locations are available for your plan.

  3. Check the domain renewal separately

A free or ₹1 first-year domain renews at the normal rate. Our guide to registering a .in domain covers what to watch.

  4. Keep your own backups too

Host backups are a safety net, not a plan. Keep a copy of files and database somewhere outside the host.

  5. Set a renewal reminder

Put the renewal date in your calendar a month ahead, so you can renew, change plan or move without a rush.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hostinger good for business websites in India?

For most small business sites, yes. It is affordable on long terms, easy to use and offers an India data centre. Just plan for the higher renewal price and keep your own backups.

Why is the Hostinger renewal price so much higher?

The intro price is a discount for new customers on a long upfront term. When the term ends, the plan renews at the standard rate, which as of November 2026 is roughly 1.5 to 4 times the intro rate depending on the plan, with the biggest jumps on the cheapest web hosting plans.

Does Hostinger have a data centre in India?

Hostinger's server locations page lists India for web, cloud and VPS plans. You choose the location when you set up the plan, and the dashboard shows what is available.

Is Hostinger VPS managed or unmanaged?

You get full root access and manage the server yourself, with an AI assistant and optional panels to help. If nobody on your side can handle updates and security, a web or cloud hosting plan is the safer choice.

Do Hostinger prices include GST?

No. Hostinger India's pricing pages state that prices are listed without GST, so 18% is added at checkout.

Can I move away from Hostinger later?

Yes. Keep your domain registered in your own name and keep copies of your files and database, and you can move to any other host when your term ends.
